Club Runs

Before attending any rides, please read our "code of conduct" and "preparation for a ride" pages

Leaders guidelines

There is a choice of rides on each of the weekend days, allowing people to choose a ride suited to their ability and have an enjoyable day out that is within their limits. For details of off-road rides please see the off-road page.

Saturdays:

0830 Meet Summerhill, Kingswinford, on road, 35 miles, 2 hours, brisk, e-mail Roger Allen for information. Same route every week, details here. Experienced riders only.

Sundays:

0830 brisk speed. Meet: The Bonded Warehouse, Canal Street, Stourbridge. On road, 50 - 60 miles (16mph), mainly quiet lanes; e-mail Roger Allen for information. The 0830 group page and calendar can be seen here.

0900 touring speed. The Bonded Warehouse, Canal Street, Stourbridge. On road, 40 miles touring ride (12mph), e-mail Richard Ottridge for information.

0930 Introductory - by request. Meet West Hagley Community Centre car park. Social ride for novices , new members, guest riders, the not so fit and older riders. Especially suitable for Parents accompanying children ( minimum age 12 ). Its for those who want to extend their cycling experience “on road”, so they can bridge the fitness gap and progress onto our other longer Club rides. Contact Terry Rowntree to make a request for this ride.

Weekdays:

Tuesdays. 0930, meet Talbot Inn, Belbroughton, e-mail Richard Coleman Approx 4 hours 15mph. tea stop included. Check the forum for any changes.

Thursday night bash: will start for the winter months on Thursday 8th October, meet 7.15pm outside Lidl, bottom of Brettle Lane.

Note the following safety guidelines which must be observed:

ALL riders must wear predominantly white or yellow or Stourbridge CC club jerseys - this is for the safety of the whole group and makes us much more visible under sodium street lights.

ALL riders must have working lights - including 2 rear lights (every week someones back light fails, this ensures there is always a backup) and a hard shell helmet.

Speed is a brisk training pace, but the ride is a 'co-operative training ride', not a race, and disruptive riding will not be appreciated! Whilst we try and accomodate as wide a range of abilities as is reasonable, we don't wait for riders who are really out of their depth.

All are welcome, including non-club members, as long as you follow the guidelines above.
