Three Peaks 2008 Chairman's Statement

We have a good club entry and I am encouraging all members who haven’t yet supported this classic in our race calendar and arguably toughest of all British cycle races, to come and support our teams. We have a Club history in this event over 30 years, with some success, but any rider who completes this race is a club hero !

It is unique in that it combines racing on the road and over the tops of mountains, a supreme test of athleticism. We have Keith and Tom and Robin entering as ‘virgins’ so lets see lots of ‘orange’ supporters on the mountains, helping and cheering.

You can combine this weekend away with spectacular walking, hilly touring on or off road riding ( if you think the Shropshire Challenge or that romp in North Staffordshire a bit testing) this is the place to be riding. There are good campsites, hostels and hotels – B&B’s, lovely pubs for meals out and magnificent scenery.
