best way to join?

Postby richard-clark » Wed Nov 11, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi I have seen some of you guy riding around in SCC gear so I thought I would take a look at the website. I am interested in joining as most of my mates just now enjoy watching bad tv and eating pizza!!
Would it be best to just turn up to one of the rides? I have a quintana roo kilo tt bike and a giant xtc full sus bike. I average around 14-15mph on the tt bike so which ride would I be more suited to? Would really like to start up time trialling but have no idea on traning etc. hope the club could help me out somehow?
Cheers in advance

Hi Richard.

There are a number of people in the club who do time trialling and could give you some direction.

There are also loads of people doing most other types of riding too! You could try the 9:30 off road ride to start (might be a bit tame but will give you a flavour) and then maybe try out 9:00 ride which goes a bit further & faster etc.

There are also road rides - I'm not so familiar with these but the detail is on the website if you hunt about.
I'm sure someone will post something to you about it in a bit. Hope to see you out on the trails!

Hello Richard

As you have a road and a mountain bike, you are spoilt for choice on which ride to attend!

Take your pick, if you want a road ride then Sunday 9am, or 9.30 for a slower ride. We can certainly help you out with time trialling, plenty of time now until next season starts. Come to the club on Monday night if you can.
