The next race in the Cycling Development West Midlands (CDWM) calendar will be taking place on Sunday 27th June 2010 at the Stourport Circuit commencing 1000 hrs (Note change of venue from previous posting) and any riders under the age of 16 are welcome to attend with entry on the line. Parking is a bit limited at the circuit, so please be there nice and early to have your gears checked, sign on and be at the rider and parent briefing as racing will start at 1000 hrs. We expect 125 riders they will be divided into ability groups; no problems if you have not raced with CDWM previously, just turn up with a suitable bike for road racing use.
The event is a great opportunity for any young riders in SCC with a road bike to experience racing and they will also get quality coaching from experienced cyclists (Jess Varnish was offering such advice at the last event on 29th May at Curborough along with British Cycling staff)
There will also be an event on 17th July 2010 at Sundorne, Shrewsbury, with a final event around Lichfield City centre on Sunday 29th August 2010 where the riders take over the City centre!
More details at:
http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/group/Cycling_Development_West_Midlands/?t=0If there are no young riders who wish to road race on the circuit, then perhaps it might be worth going along to be a spectator or even help out with on the day.
For those interested in MTB racing there will be a MTB XC event on Sunday 15th August 2010 in Malvern commencing 1000 hrs with entry on the line. So, no road bike, no problem, come along and race on a MTB and be part of the action with CDWM!
