Canal towpath on National Cycle Route

Postby maggie thompson » Tue Feb 07, 2012 9:14 pm

Dudley Cycle Forum have been notified of works being done during February and March 2012 - please see extract from email:

Please be advised that the above mentioned towpath improvement works, between Pedmore Road and the Waterfront, Brierley Hill, are anticipated to commence from 1st February 2012 and should be substantially complete by 31st March 2012.

Works will be undertaken by British Waterways with financial assistance and support from Dudley Council. The Dudley No. 1 canal towpath forms part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network and provides a key cycling and walking link into the Brierley Hill area. These improvements will compliment and maximise the benefit of the walking and cycling infrastructure improvements planned next financial year as part of the Brierley Hill Local Sustainable Transport Fund Project. Please see the attached aerial location plan.

Should you have any queries regarding the works please contact either Mark Sorrill on 01384 812338 or Neil Lissimore on 01384 814686.

Dudley Cycle Forum is also keen for cyclists to attend their meetings and the next one will take place on Monday 19th March, 10.30am, at the Council House, Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge. Notes from previous meetings are available at http://www.dudley.gov.uk/transport-and- ... cle-forum/ (scroll down to bottom page for most recent minutes).
